“One of the most difficult questions in the training of future analysts is that concerning their suitability for this profession…and to convey to people that “something” which creates in a person a healing emanation”
(Marie-Louise von Franz, Psychotherapy - Profession and Vocation, page 267)
Join us for an exploration of what contributes to becoming an effective Jungian analyst according to Marie Louise von Franz, who worked directly with Jung for almost three decades and was a founder of the C. G. Jung Institute in Zurich.
We will explore questions such as why it is important to understand our spiritual ancestral past, why it is important for analysts to learn the symptomology of psych-somatic illnesses, the importance of studying fairy tales, mythology and alchemy and much more.
Recommended Reading: Psychotherapy by M. L. von Franz (1990) Shambhala Publications, Boston & London. The Essay “Profession and Vocation” is included in this book.
